  • 'Sew' Smart Mason Jar Pin Cushion With Pirates + Other Smart Women

Working on projects with Smart Women fabric got me thinking.   Who invented the bobbin-less sewing machine?  Beulah Louise Henry was a prolific inventress with many patents.  I am lying.  Working on the fabric got me thinking about women and sewing machines.

Here is a link to a tutorial on the Mason jar pincushions courtesy of Megan Nielson!

Below is more info on Beulah and a quote attributed to her.

''If necessity is the mother of invention, then resourcefulness is the father.''

Beulah Louise Henry, U.S. inventor. As quoted in Feminine Ingenuity, ch. 13, by Anne L. MacDonald (1992).
